Short version: no cookies, no analytics, no ads. ModbusKit works on your device. Your email is collected only if you choose to join the simulator mailing list.
Who is responsible
The data controller is the author of this site, AnB.
Browsing the site
This site and ModbusKit use no cookies, no analytics and no advertising, and load nothing from third parties: fonts and images are served from here. The language you pick is part of the address, not stored on your device.
As with any website, the hosting provider records technical logs (IP address, date and time, page requested, browser) to deliver the pages and protect the service from abuse. These logs are kept for a limited time and are not used to profile visitors. Legal basis: legitimate interest in running a secure website.
ModbusKit tools
The register decoder, the CRC calculator and the frame parser run entirely in your browser. The values and frames you type are not sent anywhere and are not saved.
Simulator mailing list
If you sign up to be notified about the Modbus simulator, your email address is stored by an external newsletter service, which sends the emails on my behalf. It is used only to tell you when the simulator is available and for the occasional important update about it. You confirm your subscription from a first email; every email has a link to unsubscribe, and the address is deleted when you do. Legal basis: your consent, which you can withdraw at any time.
Ko-fi
If you buy me a decaf, the payment happens on Ko-fi, which handles your data under its own privacy policy, together with the payment processor you choose. I only see what Ko-fi shows me: the name you give and any message you leave.
Your rights
You can ask to access, correct or delete your data, to restrict or object to its processing, and to receive it in a portable format. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with a data protection authority; in Italy this is the Garante per la protezione dei dati personali (garanteprivacy.it).
